This skirt and wooden bust were inspired by the NPR news article, Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade, ending right to abortion upheld for decades.

The wooden bust was 3D scanned from a Barbie doll, then CNC milled in plywood. The skirt was composed of individually laser cut dove wing silhouettes in mirror acrylic.

Both components explore the tension between rigidity and fluidity through materiality and concept. I have flipped the male gaze to the viewer. Through the gaps of the illusion of freedom, the female body is seen.
